Journey to the Heart of Music An introduction to articles and essays describing a general relational model which can be applied to tonal music. Essentially the model reduces harmony to a form of number processing. A link from the contents section of this introductory document provides access to an (abridged) first article: 'Harmony and Mutable Numbers' (PDF format) -- outlining the mutable base positional number system and its application to harmonic analysis.
